Going to the Dentist

 This book describes the activity of going to the dentist for a check-up using 12 simple clear pictures.

There is a visual of a clock used to show we have to wait in the waiting room. The waiting room can be difficult and  it may be useful to bring the Going to the Dentist book with you to show the stage/picture you are at.

It may also be  helpful to use the book as a prompt to ‘play dentist’ at home. You can often borrow the gloves or some of the other bits the dentist uses in advance so that you can help your child become more familiar with the feel and smell of what they will find when they visit the dentist. The book also provides for an opportunity to talk about the importance of brushing your teeth everyday.
