Going Swimming

This book describes the activity of going swimming in 12 simple clear pictures.

It can be used not only before the first swimming outing, but also before each swimming activity to remind the child what will happen.

You can use the book as a visual aid to support a child in packing their bag for going swimming. It may be helpful to bring the ‘Going Swimming’ book with you to the swimming pool. There is a visual of a clock used to show your child when time is up.

Use the book as a tool to talk about the noise, the smell, the water (sometimes the footbath water is very cold!) and who you might meet at the swimming pool.
